Olivia Boeree
Olivia Boeree, or 'Liv' for short, was born in Kent, England on the 18th of July 1984.
Liv has always been an achiever ever since she was still a child. She's been horse riding since the age of three. At school, she was active in a wide range of sports activities like hockey, netball, and running. She loved the competition and she loved to win.
She went to college at the University of Manchester where she studied physics and astrophysics. You can tell she is highly intelligent as she completed it with a 1st Class Honours Degree.
Liv Boeree then moved to London and participated in some game shows on TV, even winning a couple of them. She started modeling and she also worked as a TV presenter on a number of different shows.
Her first contact with poker came in 2005 when she was invited to join a reality show called Ultimate Poker Showdown. Top players in the industry like Annie Duke, Dave Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth helped her and trained her to become a reasonably successful poker player.
The lessons apparently had an impact on Olivia as she began to seriously play professional poker after the show. She still continued hosting for events at the World Series of Poker which kept her close to where the action is.
Olivia's first major win came in 2008 when she joined the European Ladies championship and won $30,000. Closely after that, she cashed in two different events at the World Series of Poker - 64th place in the $1,500 Mixed Limit Hold'em event, and 49th place at the $2,000 Pot Limit Hold 'em.
Early the next year, she grabbed the 7th place at the NHL Bounty event, earning her around $19,000 AUD. A few months later, she won $23,000 at the World Poker Tour Championships and after that, she won another $41,000 at its Main Event. But Olivia's largest win so far was in 2010 when she won the San Reno European Poker Tour and gained more than a million pounds. She is the 3rd woman in the history of EPT to win such a title.
With her skills, she has been ranked in the top ten in the league of poker players. But aside from playing, she still hosts some poker events and writes poker articles.
She loves listening to metal music and she has a number of electric guitars that she plays, which earned her the nickname 'The Iron Maiden.' Because of her talents and gorgeous beauty, she appeared in multiple magazines covers like Loaded and Maxim. With her determined attitude, Olivia is sure to be one of the best players in the poker industry.
